We are a non-profit swim club dedicated to fostering proper techniques while encouraging the enjoyment of competition swimming. The Rolla Fins Swim Club is affiliated with USA Swimming, the nation governing body for competitive swimming in the U.S. We are located in the Ozark LSC (local swim committee) area, which includes eastern Missouri and southern Illinois. USA Swimming and its system of local swim committees sanction swim meets and set time standards for the whole range of swimmers from beginners through Olympic qualifiers.
We hope that swimming will become a lifetime sport for your child. We believe that the attitudes and work habits developed in swimming will carry over into other aspects of your child’s life. It is no accident that swimmers are usually good students, too. Swimmers know that if you work hard at something, you will get better.
USA Swimming and Ozark LSC publish motivational times for boys and girls in each age group that swimmers use as their achievement goals. Parents should keep in mind that every swimmer develops at a different pace. Do not judge your child’s improvements or achievements against other swimmers. Your child will work very hard to improve; an improvement in personal times requires a commitment in attending practice, going to swim meets, and is a meaningful accomplishment for your child.

Swimming is a great sport that will help your child improve both in and out of the pool. We do not offer basic swimming lessons although the Missouri S&T University (where we practice) holds swim lessons two weeks out of each summer. Watch this MST page for announcements. Very basic lessons are offered at The Centre in Rolla. Other area pools may have announcements for swim lessons such as the Licking Aquatic Center which offers two separate one-week Swim Camps each summer.
